27 million dollars allocated to stop flooding in Tabaquite
Government has allocated 27 million dollars to deal with flooding in the Tabaquite constituency.
Massive flooding which affected residents of the Tabaquite constituency last year could be a thing of the past as government has allocted funding to deal with the problem. The announcemnet was made on Friday by MP for the area Dr.Surujrattan Rambachan.
Dr.Rambachan together with works minister Jack Warner travelled to the Tabaquite constituency to formally launch a road rehabilitation project in the area. Dr.Rambachan said it was no election ploy but a campaign promise to deliver.
Dr.Rambachan warned contractors that shoddy work would not be accepted. He said residents have been asked to look out for contractors who maybe seeking to cut corners.
Sporting facilities and agricultural access roads are also carded for upgrade in the coming months.
