Consultation on Proposed Manzanilla-Mayaro Roadworks
The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure wishes to advise the public that it will be holding consultations on the reconstruction and rehabilitation works to be conducted on the failed portion of the Manzanilla-Mayaro Road.
A first consultation is to be held at the Ministry’s Administrative Building, Richmond Street Port-of-Spain, Thursday December 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. with a Public Consultation to be held on Friday December 5, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Manzanilla Beach Facilities Car Park.
The Public Consultation, at Manzanilla, will be to inform residents and stakeholders of the Ministry’s proposed plans for conducting the restoration works, as well as to receive feedback. It should be noted, that the Ministry’s main focus, at this time, is to restore adequate levels of connectivity as soon as possible for the affected communities, with long-term restorative infrastructural works to follow thereafter.
Friday’s Public Consultation, with the presentation of ideas by the Ministry and stakeholders, is a forum for a cohesive way forward, so that normalcy is reestablished in the shortest possible time and for there to be a sustainable project of works implemented for the long-term, for this vital east-coast thoroughfare.
