Tabaquite MP condemns weekend traffic disruption on UBH
Member of Parliament for Tabaquite, Dr Surujrattan Rambachan, is condemning the planned traffic disruptions on the Uriah Butler Highway this weekend, as the Works and Transport Ministry carries out road works.
Dr Rambachan, who is a former minister of Works and Transport, believes the disruption is a deliberate move by the PNM to hamper UNC campaigning over the weekend.
The full text of the MP’s release, follows…
THE ANNOUNCEMENT BY THE MINISTRY OF WORKS AND TRANSPORT that there will be traffic disruption to accommodate road works on both the Northbound and Southbound Lanes of the Uriah Butler Highway on both Saturday and Sunday is a blatant attempt by the PNM to disrupt the very effective campaign that has so far been mounted by the UNC for Local Government Election.
The fact that they have scheduled construction works on both Saturday and Sunday is an attempt to disrupt and frustrate the several motorcades of the UNC that will be crossing the Uriah Butler Highway between North and South.
This behaviour of the PNM must be condemned in the harshest of terms however it will not stop the UNC from enjoying the victory which is being fashioned for December 2nd.Share on Facebook
