Temporary Traffic Disruption – Ruptured Water Main On Foreshore
The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure wishes to encourage motorists to either use alternative routes or proceed with extreme caution when heading west along the Audrey Jeffers Highway (Foreshore) in the vicinity of the Peakes Compound this afternoon.
Currently, our engineers are working alongside employees of the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) to repair a ruptured main and make the road passable. Work is expected to continue into tomorrow morning owing to the large size of the pipe.
Traffic will therefore be diverted through the Peakes compound.
In light of the above, motorists are advised to comply with the following:
Proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and barriers
Adhere to instructions from Police Officers on site to facilitate the safe flow of traffic in an orderly manner
Be aware of Open Trench Construction
Be aware of heavy equipment that may be entering and exiting the site
Drive at a reduced speed on approaching the work zone
The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure regrets any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its cooperation. For further information, please view the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure’s website www.mowt.gov.ttShare on Facebook
