Thank you for Bridge at Golden Grove Rd, St Helena
Dear Dr. The Honorable, Surujrattan Rambachan, Minster of Works and Infrastructure,
My name is Vitra Ramcharan and I live at Las Lomas # 2 which falls in the constituency of La Horquetta Talparo. It is with great frustration that I write to you this morning concerning the traffic situation in the St. Helena Junction / Madras Road area.
Firstly, I would like to thank you for the work your ministry has been doing across the country for the past 3 years.
I kindly write to seek your intervention please. The bridge at Golden Grove Road St Helena has been closed for some months now due to reconstruction.
A drive which takes me less than 5 minutes took me 1 hour and 35 minutes this morning. This drive is from St. Helena Junction to the By-Pass road by the Airport. I sat in my car this morning, in traffic gridlock and cried out of frustration and this is no exaggeration . A lot of Trucks and other heavy vehicles use this area as well.
I don’t think this fair to the people of this area. We aren’t like other parts of the country that will block roads and burn tyres.
We have been very patient, but I think today was the worst. Since the bridge has been closed the same 5 minute drive usually takes me 40 minutes but today it took me 1 hour and 35 minutes.
I kindly ask for your intervention in this matter please, someone to direct traffic to allow for the easy flow of traffic or some other solution that will help ease our frustration until the bridge is fixed.
Please help and I apologize for this long email.
I thank you in advance for reading my mail.
